The archive file can be a zip file or a self extracting exe file. Microsoft Net Framwork 2 has to be installed. Dir2Encrypt was built with MS Visual Studio 2008 it referneces the Zlib-v1.9 Ionic.Zip.dll
Dir2Encrypt does encrypt a folder with privat files and subfolders into a single password protected archive file.
